Whatever your commodity; bulk, break bulk cargo or containerised goods, we have the appropriate vehicles to transport your product to local and cross-border destinations. Quality of service is of paramount importance to us in transporting goods safely, on time, every time. In this regard we comply with load configurations, mass distribution and any load limitations, ensuring compliance with legislation.
Our rail transport division has worked hand in hand with Transnet Freight Rail over the past 12 years and we are considered ‘rail experts’ when it comes to large volumes of import or export cargo. From the planning stage of volume requirements, to ordering wagons and supervising the loading process, to the release of wagons; we are on site supervising and monitoring the process – including final delivery of the product to consignees in an organised manner.
Warehousing and Distribution
When large or small volume cargo needs to be warehoused, handled, packed, tallied and transported to or from vessels, we have facilities that are either undercover – for protected cargo – or open storage yards. These processes are closely and efficiently managed. This provides Importers and Exporters with a seamless logistic service and safe, on-time deliveries. Cargo delivered inland from the Ports is always verified with an LFS cargo specific delivery note recording; vital size, part number and mass information, for Receivers’ verification and convenience.
We carry out full cargo surveys of discharge, handling and transport, recording any and all damages to cargo and compiling photographic evidence. This vital service is a requirement for placing accountability on the Service Provider responsible, where damages occur. A full written report – including photographs – is provided as on-site evidence. Pro-Forma claims are lodged by us, on behalf of the Principals, as a matter of procedure; irrespective of our assessment of damages. Furthermore, if a claim does arise, we provide vital assistance in processing claims to finality.
On Site Supervision
Our supervision service is unique in that we provide a true 24/7 on-site supervision at discharge, storage and transport of cargo. Our on-site supervision also means that we are in a position to monitor the quality of service of the Service Providers at the Ports. Should it be required, corrective measures are put in place immediately to improve service provision.
Using our detailed specification spreadsheet of the packing list information, our tally services during discharge or loading of vessels as well as storage and transport of cargo, provide verification of ordered goods. Any discrepancies are handled on-site at the vessel or warehouse and rectified.
Cargo repairs are carried out on various commodities. For example; repacking or repairing wooden cases, re-strapping broken and loose bundled cargo and re-bagging bulk cargo. This service is supervised by our on-site staff to ensure the safe transportation of the repaired cargo.
